HD Channels

BBC HD brings all the excitement of HD to some of your favorite programs - from Wimbledon to Strictly Come Dancing, Chelsea Flower Show to Torchwood and Planet Earth to Glastonbury.

ITV HD is a red-button service available exclusively to Freesat customers. Whenever you're watching ITV1 on Freesat and an HD logo pops up at the top of your screen, just press the red button on your remote control to watch it in glorious high definition it in glorious high definition.

At the moment there are 3 types of boxes on the market:

SD Freesat box:

BBC and ITV bring you Freesat, a brand new digital satellite TV service using the satellite as Sky. Freesat has no monthly subscription, just a one-off payment for a Digital Box, satellite dish and installation. There are currently over 100 TV and Radio channels, this is will increase to around 230 channels over the next year.

Ideal for Gite or multiple installations that will never need to be upgraded for extra channels.

HD Freesat box:

It's bigger, better and sharper and will transform TV viewing forever, (HD ready TV required). HD makes TV look incredible with intensely colorful, extremely clear and stunningly sharp images.

Choose a Freesat HD digital box featuring all the benefits of the Freesat SD digital box plus the brilliance of HD pictures and audio that makes your 5.1 surround sound system come alive.

HD Freesat HDR (PVR) box:

A Freesat HD digital TV recorder gives you all the benefits of the Freesat HD digital box plus the ability to record, pause and rewind live TV- With NO subscription. The massive 320GB hard drive can store up to 80 hours of HD programing, or up to 200 hours of standard definition shows, while the eight day on-screen electronic program guide makes it easy to scan the Freesat TV schedule and plan your viewing. Because the Humax FOXSAT-HDR comes with two digital tuners, two Freesat channels can be recorded at the same time, so you never need miss a thing. And with HD highlights including Strictly Come Dancing, UEFA Champions League, Tonight with Jonathan Ross, England home games, and the FA Cup, there's plenty you won't want to miss.

HDR features:

• Series recording - to automatically record all the episodes of your favorite shows
• Radio recording - never miss your favorite radio shows by recording individual shows, or even series record

• Schedule tracking - so recordings start and finish on time, even when broadcasters change their schedule.
• Split recordings - to record two-part programs that may have a break in the middle for a news bulletin, such as films.

This Freesat+ satellite receiver needs two separate satellite feeds ... in most cases this can be achieved by replacing the existing LNB (head) on the dish with a Twin Output LNB and running in the extra cable. If it is not possible to add the second cable, the Foxsat HDR will still record certain channels while you are watching another but choice will be limited.
